Crafty Update

So far during this pregnancy the whole "take it easy until the baby gets here" as proven to be a very productive thing for my WIPs!

TRAVELING QUILT - although, I think a better name should be the COUCH QUILT

In February, I had completed 7 hand-pieced stars.

and now, I have completed 14 hand-pieced stars!

Oh I LOVE LOVE LOVE this quilt already.  Such a great way to use up my scraps and the little diamond pieces fit nicely into my purse so I can take it with me to the doctor's office and sew while I'm waiting.  PERFECT for this TYPE A/OCD/hates wasting time/busy body!

OWL CROSS STITCH - 3 . 5 owls completed.

This is going to be so cute!  I love how each one has their own personality. ♥

PINEAPPLE SURPRISE QUILT - remember this one? (click here)

The last time I posted about this quilt was on Halloween!  Scary! :D

Well as most of you know, we do a fundraiser every year for the
in Los Angeles, and this one particular family donates $1,000 EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.  So when I got an email from them that they were sending me another donation check, I decided that they should get this quilt.  I am so grateful for them.  They have always supported me, in everything, from way back when I was in 8th grade.  Such a great family. ♥♥♥

Quilt #44
62"x75"
How am I ever going to let this one go?  =*(

I love everything about it: the design, the fabric, the use of the leftover HSTs as a border, the alternate setting for the blocks, the dark hunter green border... I could go on and on...

I used the pattern from this book:

Now I just need to baste, quilt and bind it!  I'm using the leftover strips from the jelly roll as my binding.  I can't wait to see how this finishes up!

I still need to make some Farmer's Wife blocks and finish up my scrappy Irish Chain, plus make the baby's crib quilt!  Lots to do, but my stash of UFOs is definitely getting smaller.

Have a great weekend!

  2. I know this is an older post but do you recall where you got the owl cross stitch pattern? I'd really like to do that project as well.
