About

Welcome to the "right" side of my "left-brained" world!

I am an engineer/mathematician by trade, turned stay at home Mommy and quilter after the birth of our daughter in 2009.

I got my first sewing machine the Christmas of 2009 from my wonderful husband

and haven't stopped sewing since!  I don't know how I ever managed before.

When I'm not playing with my adorable 2 year old, hanging out with the hubs, or quilting, I'm advocating for a Cure for LUPUS.  I was diagnosed with this chronic auto-immune disease in 2007.

One of the few outward signs of lupus is the malar "butterfly" rash that appears across the cheeks.  During a flare up, I get this rash, hence the name

Butterfly Stitches.

Quilting is not only a creative outlet for me, but it also keeps me busy when my lupus keeps me inside.

With the unwavering support of my husband, family and friends, I'm doing quite well with my lupus.  I like to say,
"I may have lupus, but lupus does not have me."
